WORCESTER, June 16, 2013 — The Reliant Medical Group Foundation raised more than $450,000 through its Drive for a Difference charity auction and golf classic, which was held recently at The International Golf Club in Bolton.
More than 350 guests turned out for the charity auction and dinner, which featured an extensive silent auction with items ranging from gift baskets to signed memorabilia to vacation packages. The evening also included a live auction led by nationally known auctioneer Paul Zekos. The following day, close to 200 golfers teed it up to continue the fundraising efforts.
Since its inception in 1999, Drive for a Difference has raised more than $3 million to promote health and battle obesity in Central Massachusetts. Proceeds benefit the work of Reliant Medical Group Foundation’s granting program, which includes programs that address serious health conditions such as obesity, grants that increase access to health care, initiatives to increase the care and comfort of Reliant cancer patients, and support for national initiatives such as Reach Out and Read.
