WORCESTER, Mass., April 9, 2013 – Reliant Medical Group Foundation has awarded a total of $57,500 to 12 non-profit institutions as part of its mission to promote health in Central Massachusetts through education, innovation, support of quality improvement, and access to services. The Foundation offers community grants twice a year to organizations within Reliant Medical Group’s Central MA service area. Charities offering programs and initiatives to battle the obesity epidemic gain special consideration.

Each of our recipients has demonstrated a strong commitment to helping people they serve, and we are thrilled to support their efforts.”

A Little Easier Recovery: The Jacki® Program for breast cancer patients
Boys & Girls Club of Webster-Dudley: The Choices Program – Mental Health Model
Cleghorn Neighborhood Center: Youth Wellness Initiative
Dismas House: Healthy Steps Initiative
Growing Places: Gardening Education
Higgins Armory Museum: Summer Swordplay
Rachel’s Table: Children’s Milk Fund
Seven Hills Family Services: The Healthy Hills nutrition, health and cooking program
Visitation House: Healthy Moms and Babies class
VNA Care Network & Hospice: Worcester Elder Wellness Clinics
Worcester State University – Latino Education Institute: Club Educacion
YouthNet: Wheels To Water
In addition, Reliant Foundation has provided a $9,000 grant to Reliant Medical Group’s Care Management department to expand transportation to medical appointments for low-income elderly patients. This support is part of Reliant Foundation’s commitment to provide care and comfort to Reliant patients.
Reliant Foundation awarded $200,000 in grants to various community recipients in 2012. This year, the organization has pledged to increase their grants by 25% to $250,000.
