Non-profits in Central MA, Reliant Foundation, Worcester, MAWorcester, Mass., November 4, 2011 – Reliant Medical Group Foundation (formerly Fallon Clinic Foundation), has awarded a total of $63,000 to 14 non-profit institutions as part of its mission to promote health in Central Massachusetts through education, innovation, support of quality improvement, and access to services. The Foundation offers community grants twice a year to organizations within Reliant Medical Group’s Central MA service area. Charities offering programs and initiatives to battle the obesity epidemic gain special consideration.

Grants were made to the following charities and programs:

15-40 Connection: Campus Club Program
Abby’s House: The Women’s Center
Auburn Youth & Family Services: Project LAUNCH
Boy Scouts – Mohegan Council: Physical fitness programs for pre-teen boys
Boys & Girls Club of Worcester: Healthy Habits to Grow program
Community Harvest Project: Urban Youth Education Outreach Initiative
Family Health Center: Health Ambassadors Program at Elm Park Community School
Girls Inc.: Fit Girls and Gym & Swim after-school program
Nativity School of Worcester: Healthy Living Initiative
Pernet Family Health Service: Maternal Child Health Nursing home visits
Rainbow Child Development Center: Imagimotion Kidz
Regional Environmental Council: Cooking Matters
Seven Hills Family Services: Nutrition, Health & Cooking Program
Worcester Youth Center: Healthy Snack Program
