Worcester, Mass., March 26, 2012 – Reliant Medical Group Foundation (formerly Fallon Clinic Foundation), has awarded a total of $61,500 to 12 non-profit institutions as part of its mission to promote health in Central Massachusetts through education, innovation, support of quality improvement, and access to services. The Foundation offers community grants twice a year to organizations within Reliant Medical Group’s Central MA service area. Charities offering programs and initiatives to battle the obesity epidemic gain special consideration.
Grants were made to the following charities and programs:
Boys & Girls Club of Webster-Dudley: The Choices Program – Mental Health Model
Cleghorn Neighborhood Center: Youth Wellness Initiative
Dismas House of Massachusetts, Inc.: Healthy Steps Initiative
Friends of Worcester’s Senior Center, Inc.: Matter of Balance Project for Latino Seniors
Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center: Primary Care Needs Assessment in the town of Milford, MA
Montachusett Regional YMCA: Obesity Prevention for Preschoolers
Southeast Asian Coalition of Central Massachusetts: Obesity Prevention Project
VNA Care Network & Hospice: Worcester Elder Wellness Clinics
YMCA of Central Massachusetts: Y-Fit Program at Central Community Branch
Y.O.U., Inc.: Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation Program
YouthNet: Summer Program for Middle School Aged Students of Worcester

In addition, Reliant Foundation has a dedicated Oncology Fund to benefit initiatives that increase the care and comfort of Reliant Medical Group patients. One grant was made through this fund to the following charity:
