Safety Around Water:

Drowning poses a considerable risk for youth and adults, especially those from underserved populations. The statistics are sobering, but drowning deaths are preventable. At the Y, we believe everyone should have the chance to learn how to stay safe around water.  Safety Around Water is an independent program designed to reach children at risk of drowning and teach them basic water safety skills.

Shore Park:

For the past 12 years the YMCA of Central MA has demonstrated their commitment to Water Safety by staffing Shore Park with our own lifeguards.  Our Y works with the City of Worcester and Bancroft School to ensure that Shore Park has highly trained aquatics staff creating a safe and welcoming environment for the community.

The Worcester Partnership Program:

Bancroft School’s Worcester Partnership is a year-round academic program for designated Worcester Public School students (rising grades 1-9)  that provides  continued and supportive learning in order to ease the transition from one grade to the next. The program consists of a four-week summer component on the Bancroft campus which provides the challenge and excitement of academics in the morning, with the spirit of vigorous camp activities in the afternoon. In addition, there are 10 to 12 weeks of Saturday classes during the school year.
