Our Mission & History
The mission of the Reliant Medical Group Foundation remains constant: to improve the health and well-being of individuals of all ages in the Central and MetroWest regions of Massachusetts. Our vision, however, is evolving. For the last number of years, our external focus has been to target childhood obesity, and our internal focus has been to increase care and comfort for Reliant patients. In 2017, the Foundation will also address two other critical public health issues: the opioid epidemic and children’s mental health.
As Reliant Medical Group’s philanthropic arm, we have supported our community and patients since 1988 (originally, as Fallon Clinic Foundation). Our work has changed over the years as the organization and community have changed.
Today Reliant Foundation raises funds year-round to bring our mission to life through grantmaking. Our program includes both community grants and Reliant-specific awards.
- Community grants are focused on current public health crises within the Central and MetroWest regions of the state where our patients live and work. In 2017 we will accept applications from non-profit organizations in our services area that are addressing: children’s mental health, substance abuse, and childhood obesity.
- Funds granted to Reliant departments support specific programs and projects that directly increase the care and comfort of our patients—typically filling needs that insurance does not cover.
Reliant Medical Group Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization.
